Sports and hunting guru Robert McDonald began working at the Wilson County News in June 2006. He left a seven-year career as an insurance claims adjuster to pursue writing – something family and friends had encouraged him to do.

His reporting for the paper allows him to write about many of his favorite interests: hunting, fishing, nature, and sports. Robert says of his new job at the paper, "I get paid to do something I love…watch sports!!"

A Judson High School graduate, Robert attended Texas A&M, graduating with a degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences. He and his family reside in Wilson County.
