Susan Hodges started reading the Wilson County News in 1985 when she moved to the Stockdale area.
She always thought working at a newspaper would be an interesting job, but had no experience in the newspaper business. At the time, she was involved in bookkeeping and income-tax preparation so she never thought to investigate the possibility of working at the paper.
Years later, unhappy working in San Antonio, she saw an ad in the paper for a proofreader, and thought the position would suit her. Susan became a member of the team in 1997. As time passed, her duties grew to include some bookkeeping, being the society editor, and doing whatever else was needed.
After eight years as proofreader at the Wilson County News, Susan Hodges was named to editor. Susan says, "Working here has opened up a whole new world for me - new experiences, new friends, and a new "family" at the office."
